I have left Great Western Studios and will be painting in Stoke Newington. Thank you for visiting me in my studios over the 12 years. It has been a huge pleasure for me.

2018 Ridley Road Market
Ridley Road Market has been the centre of our Hackney community for almost 100 years. Now changing rapidly, i have been capturing shoppers and vendors as they interact. Drawing in the middle of this hustle and bustle is thrilling experience. With only seconds to capture the magic of each person and bird as they flitter by.

This year has been a wonderful year for continuing my exploration of Pork Knockers. The men, women and children of Guyana who enter the rainforest hunting for gold and diamonds.

Ridley Road Carnival is swirl of colour and food and dancing when the annual carnival celebrations begin. I have been painting the body shapes and body language of children and adults.

Journeys through Childhood

Journeys through Childhood is a visual exploration of the world of the child on its journeys to adulthood. Set in Guyana and England, we are presented with detailed oil paintings and drawings that capture a colourful and fragile world. Adults have a presence that is both nurturing and threatening. Family, friends and strangers go about the daily rituals of life, constructing environments in which children develop a sense of identity and individuality. The childhood pleasures and terrors inspired by stories and myths are depicted in paintings of mythology and the everyday. The questioning eyes of adults and children stare back at the viewer with interest, challenging us to remember our own childhood.
